Terms of Service

1. The deal

By using the Pet Booper app or website (together, "Pet Booper"), you agree to these terms. Pet Booper is made and operated by Scott Hanson, an independent developer ("we," "us," "our," "I"). If you're a parent or guardian and your child uses Pet Booper, you accept these terms on their behalf.

2. Who can use Pet Booper

  • Pet Booper is a game for kids and families, with a focus on ages 4–7.
  • Players under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in their country) should have a parent or guardian's permission.
  • You're responsible for activity that happens on your device.

3. Your license to play

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and play Pet Booper for non-commercial use, subject to these terms and the Apple App Store terms.

You agree not to:

  • Copy, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, or extract source code from the app, except where the law explicitly allows it.
  • Cheat, exploit bugs for unfair advantage, or use bots or automation to play.
  • Resell, rent, or commercialize anything you obtain in the game.

4. In-game currencies and purchases

Pet Booper has two in-game currencies:

  • Kibble Coins — soft currency. Earned by playing. Cannot be bought with real money. Has no real-world value and is not redeemable for cash.
  • Paw Gems — premium currency. Purchased through the Apple App Store. Has no real-world value and is not redeemable for cash.

Both currencies, and anything bought with them (pets, outfits, the Pet Shop Pass), are a license to use digital content inside the game. They are not your property in a legal sense, and they may be modified, suspended, or discontinued. All purchases are deterministic — you always know exactly what you are getting. There are no loot boxes or randomized paid rewards.

Purchases and refunds

  • All purchases are processed by Apple, not by us. Apple's refund policy applies.
  • In-app purchases sit behind a parental gate in the app, and you can disable purchases entirely at the device level (iOS Screen Time). We recommend parents do so on shared devices.
  • We do not directly issue refunds for in-game purchases. Contact Apple for refund requests.

5. Pet Shop Pass

The Pet Shop Pass is a seasonal progression track. A free version is available to everyone; a premium track may be unlocked with Paw Gems. Pass content is added during the active season — if you don't progress far enough in a season, you may miss content tied to that season's rewards.

6. Updates, changes, and shutdowns

We may add features, change balance or prices, fix bugs, retire old content, or end seasons at any time. We may also suspend or end the service. If we permanently shut Pet Booper down, we'll do our best to give players reasonable notice.

7. Intellectual property

Pet Booper — its name, logo, pets, characters, music, sound effects, art, and related content — is owned by Scott Hanson or its licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that ownership to you.

8. Disclaimers

Pet Booper is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly compatible with every device. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Scott Hanson is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising from your use of Pet Booper. Total liability for any claim related to Pet Booper is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you've paid for Paw Gems in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $10.

Some places don't allow these limitations. If that's you, this section applies only to the extent the law permits.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. We'll try to resolve any dispute informally first — please email us before involving lawyers or courts.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and note it in the app where appropriate.
